Drums
Tom Gable has been playing drums since thirteen years old when he wittled his
own drumsticks from a Hickory tree in the back yard and used a rubber dustbin
turned upside down to practice on until he got his first drum kit after saving
the money from working on a paper route. He began playing seriously at age 17 for various
bands in the U.S.A. At age 20 Tom arrived in the U.K. via the U.S. Air Force at
Lakenheath, Suffolk. He played in several sucessful local bands where he first met bass player Mark Gibson.
His playing career took him back to the USA, where he
worked with various bands playing all kinds of music including: new
wave, classic rock, reggae and even Irish Folk with well known US
balladeer Pat
Kane. It was Mark (current Tequila Sunrise Bass player) who introduced
Tom to Tequila Sunrise on his return to the UK.
In conclusion, Tom is a well-rounded drummer capable of superb timekeeping in any musical venture imaginable.
